Orthodontic Websites that Work

Is your website doing its job?  Does it turn on prospective patients—or turn them off?  This pearl can help you decide and make the simple changes that get the job done.

Your website must never be about you, it must only be about them.  Always use the second person singular (you, your) and limitedly the first person plural (we, us) and speak to them as if they are actually in front of you.

Always speak as if they are already in treatment, which is called a “pre-close” and helps sell the patient on your services, contact you, and make an appointment.

Your website must fulfill three criteria to be successful:  (1) You must make the patient aware that they have a problem, (2) that their problem can be resolved, and, (3) that you can resolve it.

Your website’s home page is the patient’s first impression of you.  If properly designed, it will create a positive impression and make them want to find out more about you.  If improperly designed, it will create a negative impression.

Click on the PDF below for a more complete understanding of how to design (or clean up) a website that turns them on instead of off.

Staying on schedule...

Do you find it difficult to stay on schedule daily when dealing with early, late and emergency patients?

If so, the 3-Step Decision Process can help you.

*  It helps to have more chairs than assistants to be able to do the 2nd step above.

**  You will need 1-3 Unit (typically ½ hour) “Hold” appointments in your daily schedule that are not given out until the day before or the day of the appointment.  This allows you to do the 3rd step above and reschedule the patient the next day.  It also allows you to schedule emergencies that day that call in that morning.
